Blooming Heart

 

This beautiful, graphic painting was created by Joanna Pregon, an artist who was born in Poland and now lives in Arizona.  Her work is done in oil on canvas.

This work was seen at On the Edge Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona.

Orange Porsche

 

Daniel Yocum was born in Kentucky and now lives in Nashville Tennessee.  Most descriptions of his work say that he takes a "hip-hop" approach to figurative abstract expressionism.  

I saw this painting at a local art gallery.  It's called "Orange Porsche".  That porsche plays a role in a lot of his paintings and so does that cloud over it.

Mystic Indian

 

John Nieto is one of my favorite southwestern artists.  His paintings are always brilliant with color with a bits of magical abstraction. And, they were always with a Native American theme.

Nieto was born in 1938 in Denver Colorado and he passed away in 2018.  

I saw this painting in a local art gallery.

A Zen-Like Experience

 

Here is an artist I discovered while strolling the gallery streets in Laguna Beach California.  His work spoke to me immediately,  Each painting exuded an air of mystery and quiet peacefulness.  The quote from his website below, says it best.

The Future & The Past

 

I saw this painting at the Scottsdale Ferrari Art Fair a few weeks ago.  The artist is Dennis Numkena (1941-2010), a Native American architect and artist.  As a child, Numkena attended the Phoenix Indian School and graduated from Scottsdale High School.  After serving in the US Military, he lived for a short period in New York City.  A visit to the Guggenheim Museum inspired him to become an architect.  He graduated from Arizona State University and formed the first Native owned architecture firm.  His artworks can be found in collections all over the world.

This painting caught my eye because to me it looked both futuristic and historic at the same time.  It looks very much like a Hopi pueblo site while also looking like it could be a scene from a Star Wars movie.  

The painting was for sale from Savvy Collectors for $30,000.00
