Faded Flowers

Whenever I buy flowers, I always find myself photographing them individually or in their bouquet form.  When this bouquet started to fade, I was about to throw them out when I decided that drooping faded flowers had their own beauty to work with.  Above is the original photo.

This is an infrared version.

This version has some other processing added.  I like them all.

Painting with Light

Using a three second exposure against a black background, I used a pen light shining on the flower to "paint" it with light.

On this one I added a poster-like effect.

On this one I added several effects highlighting the edges and coloring the shadows.

Art Challenge

For the past four years, I've belonged to an "Art Challenge" group.  We challenge each other to a topic and each member creates a piece of art based on that topic.  One of challenges four years ago was "Popcorn".  I created the above image and called it "Cocktails at Orville's".

Another challenge that first year was "Water".  I called the above photo "Polished Water".  I used my software to manipulate a photo of the water of a fountain.  I love our art challenge group.  It really gets you to think about the subject and get the creative juices flowing.

Palm Leaves

I took a photo of some palm leaves pointing toward the sky and enhanced the color of the leaves and the color of the sky.

Then I changed the color of the leaves to make them red against the blue sky.

In this one I distorted the image to create a whole new shape!
